Cathy A. Costantino, M.S.W., J.D.

Cathy Costantino has presented training in Designing Conflict Management Systems with Northern Virginia Mediation Service since 1996. She is an experienced mediator, facilitator, trainer and conflict management systems designer. She is Counsel in the nationwide Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Unit at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), where she oversees the use of ADR in internal workplace and external commercial disputes. She served as a consultant to the United Nations to assist African governments in designing conflict management systems. Ms. Costantino’s expertise includes mediation, facilitation, negotiation, ombuds, conflict management systems design, risk analysis, change management and organization development. Ms. Costantino lectures and teaches at Georgetown Law School, George Washington Law School, George Washington School of Public Health, Columbia University, George Mason University, Bowie State University, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management Executive Center, and the Federal Executive Institute. Ms. Costantino received her J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley (Boalt Hall). She holds an M.S.W. and a B.A. in Social Work from the Catholic University of America.

Kathey J. Foskett, M.S.

Kathey Foskett is a senior mediator, facilitator, trainer and consultant with the Northern Virginia Mediation Service (NVMS). As a mediator and facilitator, Ms. Foskett has worked on a variety of cases since 1990. These have included hundreds of family cases, work place disputes, general and circuit court cases, landlord tenant, neighborhood, community, and other types of conflicts. Ms. Foskett provides mentoring, supervision, and consultation to mediators preparing for initial Virginia Supreme Court certification as well as for those who are established mediators. She has provided basic and advanced training for federal agencies, Johns Hopkins and George Mason Universities, federal and private sector managers and employees, attorneys, therapists, and other professionals. Ms. Foskett earned a Master of Science Degree in Counseling from Western Connecticut State University and is a Virginia Supreme Court certified mentor mediator with an Advanced Certificate.

David Gerber, M.Ed, ACC

David Gerber, MEd., ACC, specializes in professional development, curriculum design, training, Conflict Management, and leadership coaching. He has worked with business owners, CEO’s, Air Force Colonel’s/Supervisors, business development directors, doctors, lawyers, engineers, senior educators and others in a training, consulting and coaching capacity. His expertise spans the areas of conflict resolution and organizational problem solving, team building, group facilitation, Interest-Based Negotiations, diversity education, communication, leadership and beyond. Dave trains for the United States and local governments, corporations, associations, non-profits, medical practices and school systems. David received a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Ithaca College, a master’s degree in education from St. Joseph’s University, a Senior Executive Leadership certificate, and a Leadership Coaching certificate from Georgetown University.

Sam Jackson, J.D.

Sam Jackson is a certified mediator and practicing attorney in McLean, Virginia. During 2000-2001, he was president of the Virginia Mediation Network, the state’s association of mediators. Mr. Jackson is currently vice chair of the Virginia Alternative Dispute Resolution Joint Committee of the Virginia Bar Association and the Virginia State Bar. He has served as a member of the Advisory Council of the Department of Dispute Resolution Services of the Supreme Court of Virginia and as a member of its Legislative Committee and its Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee. Mr. Jackson has been co-chair of the Fairfax Bar Association’s Conciliation Program and of its Professionalism Committee and is vice chair of the Fairfax Bar’s ADR section. He is also an adjunct professor of law at Georgetown University Law Center, where he teaches negotiation.

Alma Abdul Hadi Jadallah, Ph.D.

Dr. Abdul Hadi Jadallah is President and Managing Director of Kommon Denominator, Inc. She advised and worked on strategic projects related to conflict prevention and mitigation, training and education, and capacity building on the national and international levels. She has participated in a number of global conferences on Conflict Resolution, International Women’s Leadership Development, and has been a speaker and participant at various forums including: U.S. Institute of Peace, Harvard University, Howard University, U.S. State Department, Meridian International Center, Association for Conflict Resolution, and Jordan’s Securities Exchange Commission. She has designed and delivered highly successful small and large-scale interventions in corporate, community and international settings. She is a skilled facilitator and is a Virginia Court Certified mediator. Dr. Abdul-Hadi Jadallah earned her Ph.D. from the Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University. Her research focused on the impact of 9/11 on the practice of conflict resolvers. She teaches graduate level courses on cross cultural mediation, conflict resolution practice and protracted conflicts and is currently part-time faculty at the Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution, affiliate faculty at the Women’s Center at George Mason University and Visiting Scholar at the Center for Global Peace at American University.

Neil Kaufman, J.D.

Neil Kaufman has been a senior mediator and trainer with the Northern Virginia Mediation Service since 1994. He is a lawyer and is Director of Mediation Services at the Department of Health and Human Services’ Departmental Appeals Board. Mr. Kaufman has been trained in and has mediated interpersonal and civil disputes of all kinds including, EEO and workplace disputes, civil litigation, employment discrimination, divorce and domestic relations, personal injury and grant and contract issues. He has trained new mediators throughout the Federal sector, and is on the adjunct faculty of the Department of Justice’s Legal Education Institute where he teaches negotiation and mediation. Mr. Kaufman is certified by the Supreme Court of Virginia to mediate disputes in the State court system. Mr. Kaufman has an undergraduate degree from Duke University and a law degree from William and Mary College.
